This treatise of 1815 is attributed to 'An Inhabitant of New England' and is addressed to 'The Right Honorable George Canning, Esquire'. George Canning was an active figure in English politics at the time and this work deals with the differences between England and America in terms of Problems, Morals, and Politics. This little volume is a most interesting artifact. It is in good only condition with a worn spine that is beginning to separate at the top. The gilt lettering on the spine is still clearly visible. This volume, which was published in 1834 in New York is a later printing of the edition abridged by Irving which was first published in 1829. The book is fragile but holding together well. There is a waterstain on the upper right corner of the last two blank pages and there is a bit of very light writing in pencil on the inside of the back board and the rfep.
