Edition: First Edition Later Printing

Seller ID: 005609

Condition: Very Good

This Classic novel was written by Edmond Rostand, the author of 'Cyrano De Bergerac'. The text is in French. The book is bound in quarter-leather. The volume shows some wear to the boards. The front board has a scratch on the upper right extremity and a small chip to the upper left where the board meets the spine. The small chip does not show on the spine. The spine is splendid with ornate gilt decoration, raised bands and gilt lettering. It is virtually without flaw. The rear board shows some wear to the upper left corner but it is quite small. There are also two very small chips to the upper... View more info

Condition: Fine

This volume is a beautiful facsimile of a medical book that was originally published in 1858. It is a special Limited Numbered edition. The book is in Very Fine condition in full-leather with gilt decoration and lettering. All edges are gilt and the endpapers are finely marbled. In the inner front pastedown there is a special plate that I imagine was placed there by the publisher that says 'This is copy 947 of a Limited edition of 7,500 copies in the Library of Dr..........' (I am leaving out the Doctor's name). The Doctor's name was clearly printed when the book was sent to him because there ... View more info

World War Two - Life

By: Stolley, Richard (Editor)

Price: $85.00

Publisher: New York, Little Brown Company: 2001

Edition: First Edition

Seller ID: 005185

Condition: Fine

This wonderful book is Quarto in size and would make a great coffee-table book. The book is in fine condition with extremely clean boards and spine. I mention this because the cloth that the book itself is bound in is a very light beige and would really show any staining. The spine is labeled in Gilt and the gilt is bright and beautiful. This is a true First edition. The dustjacket is very near fine with a tiny bit of shelfwear to the top of the spine panel which will be invisible once I put this volume into an archival dustjacket protector. Who but Life Magazine could bring us this remarkable... View more info

Gay Talese is the author of many fine bestsellers such as "Honor Thy Father", "The Kingdom and the Power", and "Unto the Sons". This book, published in 2006 is in very fine condition but for the tiniest of shelfwear to the top of the spine of the dustjacket. It can barely be seen (really!). Apart from this both the book and the dustjacket are in Very Fine condition. Gay Talese has inscribed and dated this volume in the year of publication. It is an association inscription written directly on the title page. Parts of the inscription are a little tricky to read but I beli... View more info

This book is brand new and in the original publisher's shrink wrap so please forgive the picture. The shrink wrap distorts when it is scanned. The book is personally signed by Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu. When South Africa's changed from the system of apartheid to democracy the work of building a new nation had begun. The new leaders saw That the nation would have to be one of not just legislative concerns but the nation would also have to deal with infrastructure and commercial issues. This is a fascinating book about two of the most famous characters in the Old West. They are Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. This volume is brand new and was only taken out of its shrinkwrap in order to confirm that it is a first edition. There is no price on the dustjacket as is very common for books that are published by the universities. The recollections gathered here and edited by John P. Wilson are based on John P. Meadow's interviews with a reporter for the Alamagordo News, A partial transcript of his reminiscences found at the Lincoln State Monument, and a talk he gave by invitation at ... View more info
