Norman Mailer, who also authored The Naked and the Dead, has been one of most controversial as well as provocative writers. There is no one quite like him either in writing style or in attitude. This book is in Near Fine condition with square corners and very little shelf-wear. The boards are bright and clean and the lettering on the spine has fared well over the years despite a very small amount of fading. This is the Beautiful Franklin Deluxe edition of Norman Mailer's first and most famous novel. Published in 1979 on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the book's original appearance, this copy is bound in full leather with gilt decorations on the boards and the spine. It is signed by Norman Mailer and there is a tissue guard protecting his signature. There is a bound-in ribbon bookmark and all of the edges are gilt.
