In her book Jan Morris gives a portrait of a burgeoning and incredibly vibrant city and she creates a lasting monument to it. Morris captures mood and feeling rather than just facts and she has the ability to transport the reader to her exotic destinations. This copy is in As New condition and was only opened to verify the signature. This true First Edition was published by the Franklin Library in 1988. It is bound in full red leather with raised hubs on the spine and gilt decoration on the spine and boards.
