Joseph Conrad was truly one of the giants of literature in the 20th century. His novels Lord Jim and Heart Of Darkness are both literary landmarks. Mr. Conrad was a Master Mariner and his seafaring novels are marked by a distinctive prose style and are compounds of biting realism and Romanticism. He was considered to be a genius in the creation of atmosphere and character. This book is in beautiful unrestored condition. The book is bound in a a fine dark blue book cloth with gilt decoration. All the lettering on the spine is readable and the book is tight and clean. The book shows some minor shelfwear as well as some fading to the lettering on the spine. There are minor bumps to the lower outside extremity of the front board and a corresponding bump to the rear board. The book makes a nice presentation. This is a true classic of literature in the First Edition. We are pleased to send pictures on request.
