This treatise of 1815 is attributed to 'An Inhabitant of New England' and is addressed to 'The Right Honorable George Canning, Esquire'. George Canning was an active figure in English politics at the time and this work deals with the differences between England and America in terms of Problems, Morals, and Politics. It is a most interesting historical and sociological work and it is still in the original stiff paper covers. The hinges have been professionally reinforced and the book is solid. There is age toning throughout and there is also a pressed leaf encased in plastic that is probably from the period. Rough cut edges with some creasing and light staining throughout. Really, a remarkable little piece of very early American history.
