This is a fine copy of the First British edition of The Great Train Robbery. Michael Crichton is the author of The Andromeda Strain, Prey, Jurassic Park, and other international bestsellers. The book is beautiful with no bumped corners and it appears to be unread. The dustjacket is also fine and it is not price-clipped. There is a tiny price sticker in British Pounds sterling that is overlaid onto the original price on the flap below it. You can almost see through the small and professionally done sticker. The spine of the book is lettered in fine gilt and the gilt is still bright and beautiful. It is 1855 and Queen Victoria is firmly on her throne. War is raging in the Crimea and in London the most daring train robbery of the century has occurred. It is a Masterpiece of crime. Michael Crichton, with his unique documentary approach to the novel of suspense has here woven a superb narrative. This novel brings Victorian England to life!
