This beautiful volume is an exact facsimile of a treatise that was originally published in 1753. This facsimile is of the third edition (enlarged and improved) which was published in 1772. The book is bound in full leather with very ornate gilt decorations both on the boards and on the spine. All edges are gilt and there is a silk ribbon bookmark bound-in. The book contains fine marbled endpapers and makes a wonderful presentation. The book is brand new and has never been read. This is truly an interesting offering for those who have an interest in what medicine was like in the 18th century. A wonderful acquisition for a nedical student or a Doctor who is interested in medical history.Scurvy was a terrible thing in those times and for a long time afterwards. In its time this was a very important book. We are pleased to send picures on request.
