The 1942 First Thus publication of this Thackeray classic was published as a Christmas volume. A limited number of copies were printed of which this is copy number 1040. Printed at the Press of A. Colish in Mount Vernon, N.Y. This beautiful edition was designed by George Macy, the godfather of the Limited Edition Club and it contains fine Illustrations that were redrawn by Fritz Kredel from the original first edition. The full page plates in the volume were colored by hand under the supervision of the artist.The book is bound in fine decorative cloth. The volume is in very good+ condition with a small spot on the front board and a scratch to the middle of the spine. There is no slipcase with this volume. A lovely presentation and a fine Christmas offering.
