This is the First edition and First printing of Andrew Vachss' 'Only Child'. It is in absolutely Fine condition and it is signed by the author directly on the title page. This is one of the author's 'Burke' novels in that Burke is the name of his main character. After years on the run, Burke is desperate to return to his native New York to connect with his "outlaw" family. Burke must take major risks to survive in their part of the city where reputation is everything. He must reestablish his presence. When a Mafia man contacts him about the 'murder-as-message' of his sixteen year old daughter, Burke's depleted bankroll persuades him to step out of the shadows and do something that he has not done in years. That is to actually investigate a crime. This is a great mystery novel written by a very fine author.
