This beautiful Easton Press Signed edition is still in the original publisher's shrinkwrap. Please forgive the picture as it is very difficult to get a decent scan of a book still in wrap. This book of Kurt Vonnegut's unpublished Short Fiction is a strictly Limited edition of 1000 copies. Each volume is signed and numbered by Mr. Vonnegut and it is a fine volume indeed. The Easton Press had a working relationship with the author for more than fifteen years before he passed away not too long ago. This is a very special edition. Several years ago Kurt Vonnegut had prepared signed pages for an Easton Press First edition that never materialized. Those signed pages had been carefully stored waiting for an appropriate edition. With the author's death the project seemed never to be realized. Recently, however, a new collection of previously unpublished short fiction has been discovered and was collected in a book entitled 'Look at the Birdie'. This volume is a First edition and it is signed by the author. This beautiful book is bound in full-tooled leather with satin moiré endpapers, satin ribbon bookmark and 22kt gold on the spine. The spine has raised bands in the style of classic bookbinding. Beautiful gilt designs ornament the front board and unlike most Easton Press books which are decorated with gilt, this volume has gilt as well as coloring. The paper was made especially for this edition. The leather was cut entirely by hand. It has raised bands on the spine in the style of classic bookmaking. Published by Easton Press it is a volume of heirloom quality and will be treasured for generations to come.
