This is a wonderful and beautiful book written by John Berendt. Originally Published in 1994 it became an immediate bestseller and was later made into the motion picture of the same name directed by Clint Eastwood. The book is in as new condition and is still in the publishers original shrink-wrap. This book affords a sublime and seductive reading experience. It is subtitled "A Savannah Story" and it is highly atmospheric, masterfully written and probably destined to become a classic. This beautiful book is bound in full-tooled deep blue leather with satin moiré endpapers, satin ribbon bookmark and 22kt gold on the spine. The spine has raised bands in the style of classic bookbinding. Beautiful gilt designs ornament the front as well as the back boards. The paper was made especially for this edition. The leather was cut entirely by hand. It includes a certificate of authenticity and a descriptive card laid in with biographical information as well as a few words about the book itself. Published by Easton Press it is a volume of heirloom quality and will be treasured for generations to come.
