Norman Mailer, who also authored The Naked and the Dead, has been one of most controversial as well as provocative writers. There is no one quite like him either in writing style or in attitude. This book is in Near Fine condition with square corners and very little shelf-wear. The boards are bright and clean and the lettering on the spine has fared well over the years despite a very small amount of fading. There are a couple of small tape ghosts to the front pastedown and the ffep. They are a bit over 1/4" and are hardly a factor. This also appears on the rear free endpaper. These marks are really small. The binding is tight and the textblock is entirely clean with virtually no toning. Advertisements for Myself is a collection of Mailer's short works over the years. It includes short stories, essays, short novels, and other forms. However, it is a collection like no other because its separate pieces are woven together by an autobiographical narrative which is startling in the candor of its confessions. The writing runs from old fashioned fulmination to Satanic wit and is thoroughly enjoyable. We are pleased to send pictures on request.
