Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Berendt, John
1 Berendt, John Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
New York Random House 1994 Reprint Cloth Fine Near Fine 8vo Signed by Author
This is a wonderful and beautiful book written by John Berendt. It is a later printing of this modern classic. The book is inscribed by John Berendt on the FFEP. It reads: "For Lynne - All the Best". And then it is signed and dated by the author. Published in 1994 it became an immediate bestseller and was later made into the motion picture of the same name directed by Clint Eastwood. This particular volume is a rarity both for its Very Near Fine condition and for the bold signature of the author on the ffep page. The book is in Fine condition with all corners square and a pristine text-block. There is no writing inside and no previous owner's bookplate. The dust jacket is also Very Near Fine and shows a few small very thin scratches on the front as well as the rear panel. They are not very obvious on the front but because of the design of the jacket they are a bit more apparent on the rear panel. There is very little shelf-wear to the book and it makes a nice presentation. The volume is not price-clipped and there are no tears or defects to be seen. This book affords a sublime and seductive reading experience. It is subtitled "A Savannah Story" and it is highly atmospheric, masterfully written and destined to become a classic. A Beautiful signed and important piece of fiction. We are pleased to send pictures on request.

Liechtenstein Quick 1960 First Edition Later Printing Hard Cover Very Good No Jacket 8vo
This is the Fourth impression of the First edition of this interesting little book. A small book but a significant one. Paul Gallico was also the bestselling author of 'The Snow Goose' and 'Mrs. Arris Goes to Paris' among many other literary works. The book is dedicated to its subject Baroness Ludmila von Falz-Fein. It is Inscribed by her father, the Baron Von Falz-Fein, on the dedication page. No dustjacket is present. Contains beautiful illustrations. Another heart-warming story from Paul Gallico and a significant association copy.

Snow Falling on Cedars, Guterson, David
3 Guterson, David Snow Falling on Cedars
New York Vintage Books 1995 1st Thus Wraps Near Fine No Jacket 8vo Signed by Author
This is a Trade paperback edition of the international bestseller 'Snow Falling on Cedars'. It is a first-thus edition and it is inscribed by the author. The inscription is written directly on the half-title page and it reads 'To Ruth-' and then it is signed by the author. The book is in excellent condition but for a small crease to the bottom left of the rear wrap and some very slight toning to the text block. This Novel was the winner of the 1996 American Booksellers Book of the Year. It also won the 1995 PEN/Faulkner award and the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award.. It is a mystery and suspense novel that is complete with courtroom maneuvering and surprising turns of evidence. In many ways it is richer and deeper than a common mystery and well worth reading.

Black Sunday, Harris, Thomas
4 Harris, Thomas Black Sunday
New York Dell Publishing 1990 Mass Market Paperback Fine No Jacket Signed by Author
Here is a great copy in paperback of Thomas Harris' First Book. With all of us being concerned about terrorism, no story could be more timely. This is the story of a terrorist plot to blow up the Superbowl in retaliation for American aid to Israel. The book is in Fine condition and it has not been read. The wraps are tight and the pages are very clean. All corners are square. Thomas Harris has signed this book directly on the title page. This was the novel that Mr. Harris wrote before Red Dragon, which was the first Hannibal Lecter book. A signed copy of the First edition of this book is quite expensive. This paperback edition is rare in its signed state and very affordable. We are pleased to send pictures on request.

Dead Man Walking, Prejean, Helen
5 Prejean, Helen Dead Man Walking
New York Vintage Books 1994 1st Thus Trade Paperback Very Good+ No Jacket 8vo Signed by Author
This first Vintage books Trade paperback edition was published in 1994. On the blank page directly opposite of the title page there is a 2" by 4" card that is very neatly attached and reads "To Camille - Helen Prejean". The book is in excellent condition and does not appear to have been handled very much. No tears, no writing except by the author and no banged corners. There are, however a couple of bent corners in the center of the text. They realy do not detract. In 1982 Sister Helen Prejean became the spiritual advisor to the convicted killer of two teenagers who was sentenced to die in the electric chair in Louisiana. A friendship and intimacy developed and this book is Prejeans story of her profoundly moving journey through our system of capital punishment. Made into a terrific movie with Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn the book is a great read. It's very dificult to find a copy of this book that is signed by the author.
