Immortality Factor, The, Bova, Ben
1 Bova, Ben Immortality Factor, The
Norwalk CT Easton Press 1st Thus Full-Leather As New No Jacket as Issued Signed by Author
This book is Brand New and it still resides in the Original Publisher's Shrinkwrap. It is Limited to 900 copies and because the book is unopened I do not know what number this particular book might be. The book is signed by Ben Bova and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Easton press that is frequently signed by the author as well. Some see stem-cell redearch as mankind's greatest scientific breakthrough. Others see a blasphemous attempt to play God. Suddenly, the possibility of immortality exists. Two brothers, both doctors, stand on opposite ends of the controversy. To Dr. Arthur Marshak, his work is a momentous gift to humanity. To Jessie Marshak, it is a curse. Between them stands a beautiful, remarkable woman both brothers will do anything to save. Somehow, before it is too late, Arthur and Jesse Marshak must bridge the gap that divides them on an issue that could mean life or death for millions.Given Ben Bova's extensive works of Science Fiction and non-fiction, there are perhaps few better qualified to adress the complex issues that surround today's scientific breakthroughs. Ben Bova has probably won every award and prize that is due to a great writer such as himself. I have personally read at least ten of his books and I thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. Discovering Ben Bova as a writer is an exciting adventure through the depths of space and time. Beautiful New copy in as-new condition. Published by the Easton Press. It is bound in medium dark lavender Leather with complex, ornate and brilliant gilt decorations on the front and back boards as well as the spine. The gilt comes from 22K gold and the spine has raised hubs in the style of classic bookbinding. the endpapers are of silk moire and a sewn-in satin bookmark is also included. This is a volume of heirloom quality and will be treasured for generations to come.

Spider Kiss, Ellison, Harlan
6 Ellison, Harlan Spider Kiss
New York Armchair Detective Library 1990 1st Thus Cloth Fine Fine 8vo Signed by Author
Harlan Ellison is an amazingly prolific writer in both the science fiction and the mystery and suspense genres. This volume is in Fine condition and it is signed by Mr. Ellison directly on the title page. Spider Kiss is a tough-minded suspense novel about the early days of rock'n'roll and this novel has endured. It was originally published in paperback in 1961 and since then the novel has become something of a cult icon. The story has been flippantly called a 'Horatio Alger from Hell' tale where the 'poor boy from the country makes good in the city' story is reversed and coated with the pervasive corruption of the music industry. The point seems to be that Talent can corrupt and absolute talent can corrupt absolutely. A Fine signed edition. We are pleased to send pictures on request.

Galapagos, Vonnegut, Jr., Kurt
16 Vonnegut, Jr., Kurt Galapagos
Norwalk CT Easton Press 2005 1st Thus Full-Leather As New No Jacket as Issued 8vo Signed by Author
Just Reduced! This book is still in the original publishers shrinkwrap. From the author of Breakfast of Champions and Slaughterhouse Five, this beautiful Easton Press edition of Galapagos is in as new condition. Kurt Vonnegut is surely one of our most important living novelists and certainly one of the most funny and bizarre writers that has ever put pen to paper. Galapagos is set "one million years ago, back in 1986 A.D." It is a post-apocalyptic tale of humorous irony. Originally published in 1985, the book is a genealogical romp laced with oddball Darwinian references. It provides undisguised pokes at the big-brained but small-minded society of the latter half of the twentieth century. The book combines Science Fiction, anthropology, fantasy, and brilliant satire. Truly a great Vonnegut work. This beautiful book is bound in full-tooled deep blue-green leather with satin moiré endpapers, satin ribbon bookmark and 22kt gold on the spine. Beautiful gilt designs ornament the front as well as the back boards. The paper was made especially for this edition. The leather was cut entirely by hand. It includes a certificate of authenticity and a 4x6 card laid in with biographical information as well as a few words about the book itself. 17 Vonnegut, Jr., Kurt Look at the Birdie - Unpublished Short Fiction
Norwalk CT Easton Press First Edition Full-Leather As New No Jacket as Issued 8vo Signed by Author
This beautiful Easton Press Signed edition is still in the original publisher's shrinkwrap. Please forgive the picture as it is very difficult to get a decent scan of a book still in wrap. This book of Kurt Vonnegut's unpublished Short Fiction is a strictly Limited edition of 1000 copies. Each volume is signed and numbered by Mr. Vonnegut and it is a fine volume indeed. The Easton Press had a working relationship with the author for more than fifteen years before he passed away not too long ago. This is a very special edition. Several years ago Kurt Vonnegut had prepared signed pages for an Easton Press First edition that never materialized. Those signed pages had been carefully stored waiting for an appropriate edition. With the author's death the project seemed never to be realized. Recently, however, a new collection of previously unpublished short fiction has been discovered and was collected in a book entitled 'Look at the Birdie'. This volume is a First edition and it is signed by the author. This beautiful book is bound in full-tooled leather with satin moiré endpapers, satin ribbon bookmark and 22kt gold on the spine. The spine has raised bands in the style of classic bookbinding. Beautiful gilt designs ornament the front board and unlike most Easton Press books which are decorated with gilt, this volume has gilt as well as coloring. The paper was made especially for this edition. The leather was cut entirely by hand. It has raised bands on the spine in the style of classic bookmaking. Player Piano, Vonnegut, Jr., Kurt
18 Vonnegut, Jr., Kurt Player Piano
Norwalk CT Easton Press 1st Thus Full-Leather As New No Jacket as Issued Signed by Author
Player Piano was Kurt Vennegut's first novel. It was originally published in 1952. Vonnegut had previously worked as a PR writer for General Electric's renowned Research Laboratory. There he saw the technology of the future, including computer controlled machines that would do work traditionally done by people. Player Piano draws extensively from his experiences at the Laboratory. Set in an America where the only people that have any purpose are the elite technocrats who control the computers which control everything else. It is the story of engineer Paul Proteus, who joins a rebellion of those made useless by technology. Amazing prescience for 1952! This volume is brand-new and has never been read. It is in as new condition. This beautiful book is bound in full-tooled leather with satin moiré endpapers, satin ribbon bookmark, and 22kt gold on the spine. Norwalk CT Easton Press 1st Thus Full-Leather As New No Jacket as Issued 8vo Signed by Author
This book is still in the original publishers shrinkwrap. Slapstick is often cited as being one of the finest novels of the twentieth century. Vonnegut's incredible gift for finding the farcical in even the most horrific situation is on full display here.
