1 Russo, Richard Empire Falls
Norwalk CT Easton Press 1st Thus Full-Leather As New No Jacket as Issued Signed by Author
Here is the book that won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature in 2002. Richard Russo, from his first book "Mohawk", up to the present time, has clearly demonstrated his empathy with the Human Tragicomedy. With Empire Falls, a stunning novel, he extends even further his claims on the blue-collar heart of the country. This is the story of Dexter County, Maine, and specifically the town of Empire Falls. Empire Falls has been in decline for decades and has lost just about all of its businesses. The working classes, meanwhile, continue to attempt to eke out a living with what is left. This story centers around Miles Roby, a decent man encircled by history and dreams, empty churches and abandoned mills, and by the comforts and feuds provided by lifelong friends and neighbors. This volume is brand-new and has never been read. It is in as new condition and still in shrinkwrap. This beautiful book is bound in full-tooled leather with satin moiré endpapers, satin ribbon bookmark, and 22kt gold on the spine. The paper was made especially for this edition. The leather was cut entirely by hand. It includes a certificate of authenticity and a 4x6 card laid in with biographical information as well as a few words about the book itself. It is a volume of heirloom quality and will be treasured for generations to come. We are pleased to send pictures on request.
