1 Twain, Mark Great Illustrated Classics: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
New York Baronet Books 1990 Hard Cover As New No Jacket
The Great Illustrated Classics series is a wonderful way to introduce young people to the classics. When young people are exposed to these classic titles they are very likely to seek out the original titles when they are older. So give the gift of a lifetime of reading. For young people aged about 7-12 they are really nice hardcover books that have many, many great hand drawn illustrations. About one full page picture every other page. Inexpensive and beautiful, all of these books are brand new and have never been read.

2 Twain, Mark Innocents Abroad, The - LEC
New York Limited Editions Club 1962 1st Thus Slip-Case - Hard Cover Near Fine No Jacket . Signed by Illustrator
This is the Limited Editions Club first thus edition of Mark Twain's 'The Innocents Abroad'. The book is in very near fine condition and comes with it's own custom slipcase from the LEC. The slipcase shows a very small bit of wear but you would have to look for it. The spine of the slipcase has a paper label attached with the title and author printed on it. Now, on to the book. There are a couple of extremely small spots on the fore-edge but it really is clean and for a book of this age it looks Great! The top edge of the book is coated in red and shows just a little bit of a lighter shade of red at the point where the top-edge meets the spine for about a quarter inch. Again, it really does not detract. The volume is bound in a beautiful floral pattern on both the front and back boards and the spine has gilt decoration and lettering. This novel is profusely illustrated by drawings by Fritz Kredel and the drawings were hand-colored by the Walter Fischer Studio. There were 1500 copies of this book printed in 1962 and this is number 342. It is signed by the illustrator. I need not go over the plot of this classic with you as I'm sure that you have encountered lesser copies of this novel before. The Limited Editions Club was founded in 1929. It was the creation of George Macy. Its purpose was to create very high quality versions of the classics that were also illustrated by the finest contemporary artists. All Limited Edition Club books are hand signed by the illustrators with a short description of the making of the book on the colophon in the rear of the volume. Only a few were published without a signature because the illustrator had passed away before publication. All LEC books come with a fine decorative slipcase and the great majority of them contain original fine art within as this one does. They are finely constructed books printed by the best printers and on fine paper. They are highly collectible. We are pleased to send pictures on request.
