1 McMurtry, Larry Boone's Lick
New York Simon & Schuster 2000 First Edition Proof Cloth Very Good+ No Jacket
From the author of Lonesome Dove and Comanche Moon this is a Very nice copy of the Proof of Boone's Lick, a novel from one of America's greatest writers. Larry McMurtry is not simply a writer of novels about the West; this Pulitzer Prize winning novelist and essayist is a writer of Fine Literature that far transcends the genre in which he chooses to work. This Proof of Boone's Lick is in at least Very Good to Very Good+ condition. There is some light creasing to the spine and minor soiling to the back panel with one turned corner at the bottom left extremity of the back panel. The proof is tight and the textblock is clean. The Proof is housed in a Mylar protective cover. This is Larry McMurtry's return to the kind of story that made him famous: a tale of the nineteenth century west. The story is told with Mr. McMurtry's unique approach to Historical fiction and his storytelling genius is very apparent in this wonderful novel. A beautiful Pre-First Edition Proof from a Master Storyteller and author. We are pleased to send pictures on request.

3 McMurtry, Larry By Sorrow's River - Signed, Lettered
New York Simon & Schuster 2003 First Edition Limited Cloth As New As New Signed by Author
By Sorrow's River is the Third volume of the four book series titled 'The Berrybender Narratives'. There were only Twenty Six copies of this novel that were Lettered and signed by Larry McMurtry. This copy is Letter 'F'. The book is in Very Fine condition with no flaws whatsoever. It is presented in a beautiful illustrated slipcase that looks great on the shelf. This is a very scarce book and it represents a wonderful investment in the most important writings of Mr. McMurtry since Lonesome Dove. The sweep and depth of the story of each of these narratives really defies description and although the entire series is one epic drama it would require a synopsis of each volume to share with you the excitement and adventure contained here. The tetralogy basically chronicles the adventures of a Great English sporting family, the Berrybenders, as they make their way through the American West in the years 1832-1836. Each individual novel is set on or beside the four Great rivers along which the family travels. These are the Missouri, the Yellowstone, the Rio Grande, and the Brazos. The journeys of Lewis and Clark are still a living memory. We meet Kit Carson as well as the great painter George Catlin. We encounter mountain men and trappers, fearsome Sioux warrior chiefs, slave traders and virtually any sort of character that you might imagine from the Old West. This novel is written with the wit and sagacity that only Larry McMurtry can muster and this signed Lettered edition will be a terrific acquisition for the serious collector. There is humor, love, violence, intrigue, and of course, it is simply a Great read. Truly a volume for a special collector!

4 McMurtry, Larry Comanche Moon
New York Simon & Schuster 1997 First Edition Cloth Fine Fine Signed by Author
Here is the final volume of the Lonesome Dove Saga and a one-of-a-kind copy. It is a Fine First Edition signed three times on the ffep by Pulitzer Prize winning author Larry McMurtry. The three signatures are on a tipped in additional endpaper. They were taken from a volume with a remainder mark. Consequently, this book has one extra endpaper and a really impressive one it is! An absolutely unique item. This volume was signed by Mr. McMurtry in Archer City, Texas, where the author makes his home. It is in lovely condition with no bumped corners, pristine boards and clean edges all around. The dustjacket is also fine with no rips or tears. The signatures are absolutely guaranteed to be authentic. Comanche Moon is a brilliant and haunting novel of the further adventures of Gus and Call. It completes the author's epic four-volume cycle of novels of the American West that began with the Pulitzer Prize winning Lonesome Dove. The novel is also perfectly capable of standing on its own as a complete reading experience in and of itself. We are pleased to send pictures on request.

7 McMurtry, Larry Loop Group
New York Simon & Schuster 2004 First Edition Hard Cover As New As New
This is a beautiful as/new copy of the First edition and First printing of Larry McMurtry's 'Loop Group'. There is a very slight crease to the extreme top of the front panel of the dustjacket but it will be flattened and virtually invisible once I place the dustjacket in a Brodart dustjacket protector before shipping. The book is virtually without flaw. Larry McMurtry has an incredible ability to instantly create recognizable women characters. and has a real sensitivity to the absurdities of life in the modern West. In this novel he writes about two women who set off on an adventure with unpredictable and hilarious results. Setting out from Hollywood they tangle along the way with Hopi Indians, with a vagrant that turns out to be an old friend, with the theft of their car (and their gun), and with all kinds of cardsharps, fakers, charmers, and crooks. The novel alternates between great humor and the deeply sad. Loop Group is a major novel from the author of Lonesome Dove and makes a wonderful read.

11 McMurtry, Larry Terms of Endearment
New York Simon & Schuster 1975 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Very Good
Here is a very nice copy of one of Larry McMurtry's most popular and important novels. It is a true First Edition and first printing and the book itself shows the toning that is so prevalent on this title due to the books being printed on high acid paper. The text is tight and clean. The boards are pristine in tan and chocolate brown and the gilt lettering on the spine is bright. The book is in Fine condition. No bumped corners, crisp and tight. The dust jacket is not price-clipped and is very Near Fine with the tiniest bit of shelf-wear to the top and bottom of the spine panel. However, although the jacket is not price-clipped and the price of $9.95 is on the lower right of the inner front flap is present, for some reason the top right of the inner front flap was clipped. There is a very slight crease to the inner back flap at its outside extremity. Having said all that it's a beautiful dust jacket. This novel was published in 1975. Mr. McMurtry is certainly one of the most important novelists in America today and is also the author of Lonesome Dove and The Last Picture Show. Terms of Endearment enhances that literary reputation and is a wonderful and important novel. We are pleased to send pictures on request.
