Talese, Gay A Writer's Life New York Knopf 2006 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Fine Signed by Author Gay Talese is the author of many fine bestsellers such as "Honor Thy Father", "The Kingdom and the Power", and "Unto the Sons". This book, published in 2006 is in very fine condition but for the tiniest of shelfwear to the top of the spine of the dustjacket. It can barely be seen (really!). Apart from this both the book and the dustjacket are in Very Fine condition. Gay Talese has inscribed and dated this volume in the year of publication. It is an association inscription written directly on the title page. Parts of the inscription are a little tricky to read but I believe it says: "For Jim - My Colleague & fellow panelist at ____ Literary Nonfiction Conference in Dallas" It is then signed and dated. In this book, the inner workings of a writer's life, the interplay between experience and writing, are brilliantly recounted by a master of the Art. Gay Talese now focuses on his own life and the zeal for the truth, the narrative edge, the sometimes startling precision that has won him accolades for his journalism and his bestsellers. He has received much acclaim for the revelatory nature of his books about The New York Times (The Kingdom and the Power), The Mafia (Honor They Father), the Sex industry (Thy Neighbors Wife) and about his own family and the American Immigrant experience (Unto the Sons). This beautiful book will be enjoyed by anyone who has an interest in what a writer's life is like and it is very collectible. We are pleased to send pictures on request. Price:
