Ellroy, James Big Nowhere, The New York Mysterious Press 1988 First Edition Hard Cover Near Fine Near Fine Here is a beautiful copy of a scarce James Ellroy novel. Published in 1988 this copy looks like it was published yesterday with just two exceptions. There is a very small area of discoloration to the front board. Actuall it is just a little lighter in tone than the rest of the cover. There is also the tiniest bit of shelf-wear to the bottom of the spine panel on the dustjacket. It is virtually invisible. The novel takes place in 1950's Los Angeles and deals with the "Red Scare" and a string of brutal mutilation killings. We have Hollywood leftists on a collision course with a grand jury investigating team and a young homicide detective obsessed with capturing a murderer of unparalleled viciousness. This book is a Masterpiece of Noir writing. Quite scarce in this condition. We are always happy to send pictures on request. Price:

Ellroy, James My Dark Places New York Knopf 1996 First Edition Cloth Near Fine Very Good+ Signed by Author Jean Ellroy, the author's mother, was murdered in 1958. Her body was dumped on a roadway in a run-down suburb of Los Angeles. The killer was never found and the case was closed. A sordid homicide that nobody remembered, Except her son James Ellroy. He was ten-years-old when his mother died. He grew up obsessed with murdered women and crime which of course led him to a carreer in writing. My Dark Places is the story of Jean and James Ellroy from 1958 to all past points and up to the present. This is practically a treatise on 38 years of American murder. This book is in near-fine condition. It has a small red remainder dot on the top-edge and a tiny bump to the lower front board corner. The book is unread and it is in very nice condition. The dustjacket is not price-clipped and only shows a tiny bit of shelf-wear to the spine panel. All in All this is an excellent copy of a most revealing work. A very nice first.
