Dickey, James Enemy From Eden, The California Lord John Press 1978 First Edition Decorative Cloth As New No Jacket Signed by Author The Enemy from Eden is written by James Dickey and Illustrated by Ron Sauter. Dickey is one of our most prolific Poets but is probably best known for his novel 'Deliverance'. This volume is written in prose but in very Poetic form. It is comprised of a series of vignettes that are beautifully illustrated. It is bound in a lovely colored pattern that is reminiscent of Marbled Antique endpapers. The title and author are printed in gilt on the front board. This First edition was limited to 275 copies of which this volume is number 183. The paper is made of Vicksburgh Vellum and the book was designed and printed by Grant Dahlstrom for the Lord John Press. It is a very fine and collectible book. Dickey, James In Pursuit of the Grey Soul California Lord John Press 1978 First Edition Limited/Numbered Decorative Cloth Fine No Jacket Signed by Author This very important book was published in an unusual format. It is a small quarto that is 8 1/4" square. On the outside is a slipcase that is not decorated. When the book is taken from the slipcase there is an unattached wrap which encloses the book. The book is in wraps with inner flaps like a dustjacket and the front cover of the book is finely decorated. This First Limited edition was part of a 500 copy printing of which this is number 493. James Dickey has signed and numbered the book on the limitation page. The book is illustrated on every page by Robert Nance. There is no soiling or creasing to the book and the only thing that I must mention is that the outside slipcase shows some sunning to the perimeters. However, it is whole and solid and this terrific offering from James Dickey is a wonderful collector's piece. We are pleased to send pictures on request. Price:
